ASA-WM Volunteers

2023/2024 Volunteer registration will open November 1, 2023 at 8:00 AM.

COME SKI WITH US!

Share your love of skiing and the great outdoors while helping others learn new skills and take on the challenge of skiing.

Non-skiing volunteers are also needed to assist with weekly registration, special events, bookkeeping, equipment management, marketing (social and digital), and athlete assistance.

Training and Important Dates

Training is organized and led by seasoned volunteers.  All skiing skill levels are welcome.  We’ll assess, train, pair you with an experienced instructor, and place you appropriately for your skill and comfort level.  Training dates for the upcoming season are as follows:

  • November 1 - Volunteer and Athlete Registration Opens

  • November 10 - Teddy Knape Blizzard Bash

    • Party and ASAWM fundraiser

    • 6:00 pm at the Grand Rapids Downtown Market

  • November 29 - Dry Land Training

    • All volunteers, returning and new

    • Pre-work required: Watch ASAWM Training Videos Part I and Part II before attending

    • O-A-K Operations Center - 6645 East Paris Ave SE, Caledonia, MI 49548

    • 6:00 to 9:00 pm

    • Dinner will be provided

  • December 13 - Funds for Friends​ Fundraiser

    • The Score, 5301 Northland Drive NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525​

    • Dine in or carryout - 10% of all sales will be donated to supporting ASAWM

  • January 6 - On Hill Training @ Cannonsburg

    • All volunteers, returning and new

    • Cannonsburg Ski Area

    • 8:30 am to 4:00 pm

    • Arrive at 8:30 am for check-in

    • Lifts open at 9:00 am

    • Lunch will be provided

  • January 14 - Week 1 Lessons Begin

  • February 3 - Mary Free Bed Adaptive Clinic

  • February 11 - End of Season Banquet @ Cannonsburg

  • Last week of lessons continue through Thursday, February 15

  • February 17 - Teddy Fest @ Crystal Mountain

    • Volunteer trip/raffle fundraiser/ski party
